Werner was a draftsman and engraver. He was born in 1690 in Germany, the exact location is not known, and died in 1776 in Breslau. He sometimes used the name Seitenstetten Abbey (Friedrich Bernhard Werner in Niederösterreich). Werner’s most known works are from his travels in Europe: Augsburg Art Publishers offered him the opportunity to travel on their behalf to collect the most important European sights from 1727 to 1736. This was the period in which he visited and worked on Turin. One of Werner’s thought birth places is Niederösterreichischer, in now Austria, where he is considered an important local artist. In 2006, the region held an exhibition from the collection of his work at the Lower Austrian State Library.
